Sharing Success Stories

At Swarm Training we love to watch our learners grow in confidence, develop new skills and achieve great heights! At every opportunity we celebrate their success; be it in the workplace, in the ‘classroom’ or even as part of their personal goals .

Here are a few recent highlights from our apprentices’ learning journey:

Apprenticeships really do give learners fantastic exposure to business opportunities.

In 2023, one of our Marketing Apprentices, Emilee Redpath, was responsible for publicising her company’s involvement in the Ryder Cup!

Brentwood Communications Ltd were the Radio Communications and PA partner for the renowned golf competition.

Emilee explains, “We supplied the Ryder Cup with 1400 digital radios. 50 smart radios, 4G Smart Radios, 40 Repeater Channels, Antennas, Combiners, DJ sets, Mixing Desks, Speakers, Microphones, Amplifiers and Frequency Management!

My duty was to keep on top of the social media coverage, where I created a programme of social media posts from information that our engineering team communicated from their base in Italy.

I had to keep on top of the golfing scores and even had a golfing lesson to help me understand it too!”

Rachel is now a qualified Rescue Diver!

We love celebrating the successes of our apprentices, from all areas of their life, such as this fantastic achievement from one of our Marketing students, Rachel Lawrence.

At the same time as working hard on her Level 3 Marketing Assistant course, Rachel recently took time out to complete her Rescue Diver qualification - and passed. This is no easy task and Rachel hasn’t stopped grinning since . Rachel tells us:

“Across the 2 day practical, we learnt lots of things, such as how to de-kit an unconscious diver, drag them out to safety and provide emergency medical care; how to tie knots in rope for rescues. We learnt how to locate a potentially unconscious diver underwater and bring them up to the surface, then proceed with rescue breaths and lift them out of the water to safety. Plus we learnt how to do a coordinated rescue with others. I am really pleased with the achievement!”

It’s wonderful to hear an apprentice receive recognition within their own workplace.

Ellie Thornton was nominated in no less than 3 categories for Activate Group’s Annual Awards. On 27 January, the entire company of over 700 staff voted for those employees who have shone in 2023.

The awards Ellie was nominated for include the ‘Make it Happen’ Category:

‘Someone who works fast and can always be relied on to get things done. This person’s positivity helps them overcome obstacles and inspires others.’

From what we have seen in her training, Ellie is certainly a deserving winner of this award.

Her line manager, Pete, adds “She’s a real credit to the team and company!”

Krasimir Stoyanov is a level 2 General Welder apprentice.

We were delighted to hear that one of our engineering students is a finalist in the  Apprenticeships Norfolk Awards 2024!

Krasimir Stoyanov is a level 2 General Welder apprentice in Colin Lucas’s group. Kras works for David Utting Engineering which produces mobile spray booths that are leased across the country within the automotive and film industry.

Kras joined Swarm REAGIT (The Revamped East Anglian Group for Industrial Training) in October 2023 and quickly developed a great range of skills and displayed an amazing set of behaviours which quickly became noticed by the teaching team and his peers alike. Within the workplace, Kras is known for his great work ethic as witnessed by his Managing Director, David Utting.

Kras also supports his parents and his young family outside of his studies and work commitments.

With this approach to life at such a young age, Krasimir will have a long and successful future and we are so very proud of being on his journey with him!

We are always eager to hear stories about the impact that our apprentices are making in the workplace. A great example of this is Monica Masiello, one of our Business Administrator apprentices who works for recruitment consultants, Cameron Kennedy Ltd.

Monica is currently engaged in her final project, which involves updating and improving the company website. In the short time since the project began, there has been a notable 12% rise in candidate applications! Both the director and her manager are delighted with this outcome.

One of the many benefits of doing an apprenticeship is that you work whilst you’re learning. By embedding your knowledge straight away, you’re able to contribute to the business right from the start.

Jess Yates is nearing completion of her Business Administrator apprenticeship. Her employer, Finesse Travel, is a very small operation which means Jess has enjoyed fantastic exposure to all areas of the business. She has been able to evolve her creative skills and has developed a passion for marketing. For her Improvement Project, Jess has curated a formal marketing plan for the business and has now been invited on a trip to Cyprus to gather content for her promotional plan!

Jess is jetting off!
